Bike Tour Roses – Molins – Roses

This cycling tour is 68 km long, quite tough and requires a good level of fitness. 95% of the path is unpaved. The height difference is 375 m. Halfway there is a challenging climb of just over 100 meters, with a gradient of up to 8.5%.
We start from Santa Margarida, Rosas. Heading for a beautiful gravel ride of approximately 68 km and 375 meters of elevation. Depending on the time of year, there is also a chance of wet feet because you have to cross several rivers. From RocoCycling Café we drive 1 km along the beach, where we turn left to cross the main route and take our first gravel road named “Carrer Canigo”.
Follow the GPS route and after about 10 km you will pass the beautiful town of Vilajuiga. An excellent occasion to stop for a drink before the hard work begins.
After about 30 km you may think you are halfway, but be careful, here we go up steeply. Take into account a gradient of up to 8.5% and it is approximately 5 km of light to heavy climbing before you reach the top.
After the climb we descend steadily towards the Muga River, which you will cross twice before reaching Pont de Molins.
From here it is a beautiful drive, along the Muga River, which we will cross several times. The road is almost entirely gravel (with sometimes small connecting asphalt in between), and leads us to the beautiful medieval town of Castello d’Empuries where you can take a break before we start the last 6 km.
We continue following La Muga to Empuria Brava. Via the canals and the Natural Park Road we will reach Santa Margarida.
The last kilometers we drive via Santa Margarida back to the beach where you can eat and drink something at Roco Cycling to restore your energy level.
